Obituary - Earl Best

Earl Best was born in Dallas county, Sept. 7, 1902 and died at his home near Booneville, Sept. 16, 1913 of throat trouble. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Best, and leaves with his parents, one brother, George, to mourn his loss. The little one was sick only a short time and his death coming so sudden was a great shock and sadness to the community.

His teacher and school mates at North Liberty, Lee township were grieved to lose their pupil and playmate, taken so young from them all. Owing to the disease, they were unable to attend the services, but a beautiful wreath of lovely flowers was sent by them to show their great sympathy.

His brother will in many ways miss Earl, as they were constant companions in work and play. The loss to his parents is ***** sad as this is the third one in a short time that has been called from them, but they bow their heads to the will of God, hoping to be reunited beyond.

The funeral was held at the U. B. church, conducted by Rev. Swender of Van Meter and his remains laid to rest in the family plot.
