Clarence Love Death Friday

Seventy-six-year-old Clarence Martin Love died Friday, December 10, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was born February 2, 1900, in Macksburg, the son of Wesley P. and Elisabeth Rowe Love.

A resident of Madison County throughout his lifetime and a county road worker for 38 years, Mr. Love was married to Vergie E. Bonham in 1926 in Des Moines.

Affiliated with the First United Methodist Church of Winterset, Clarence Love was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

He was an ardent sportsman, especially hunting and baseball. He was active in starting the first Little League program in Winterset and later coached in the newly formed Babe Ruth league.

Survivors include his wife, Vergie, and a son, Robert W. Love of Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and one daughter.

Services for Clarence Love were conducted Monday December 13, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Paul Bousfield officiated.
