Andy Garrett Death at 74

A retired farmer and truck driver, Andy Garrett of Winterset, died Thursday, April 29, 1976, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was born January 13, 1902, in Dallas County, Iowa, the son of William N. Garrett and Cora Palmer.

A resident of Madison County for 33 years, Mr. Garrett was married to Gladys White on June 11, 1926 in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; a daughter, Ruth Lenan of Des Moines; two sons, Dennis Ray Garrett of DeKalb, Mo. and Phillip A. Garrett of Oxnard, Calif..; also eight grandchildren, two foster grandchildren and one foster great grandchild.

Also surviving is one brother, Carroll Garrett of Des Moines and three sisters, Violet Sheets of Dallas Center, Iowa, Blanche Ziebarth of Des Moines and Margaret Russell of Des Moines.

Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Andy Garrett were conducted Monday, May 3, at 11 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
