Donna J. May, 74, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Winterset Care Center North.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 21 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with burial to follow in the Peru Cemetery, Peru. A visitation will be held 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 20 at Ochiltree's with family present to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Peru United Methodist Church.
Donna Jean Lee was born June 4, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa; the daughter of Ed and Gladys (Stout) Lee. She graduated from East High School and married Dale May on March 25, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2000. Prior to moving to Peru in 1968, Donna lived in Des Moines.
Donna was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church and the Honey Bee Quilters. She loved her church and quilting. She also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Nascar and westerns, especially anything staring John Wayne.
Donna is survived by her son, Steven May (Pam) of Winterset; her daughters, Cindy Johnston (Matt) of Corning; Diana Givan (Mark) of Eugene, OR; Carolyn MacDonald (Don) of Loveland, CO, and Maralyn (Dave) Dolph of Livermore, CO; 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Edmund Lee.
