Louise Simpson Services Held

Funeral services were held here last Saturday morning for Louise E. Simpson of Des Moines, a former resident of Peru. She died in Des Moines Thursday, October 24, at the age of 82.

Mrs. Simpson was born in Taylor County, Iowa on December 14, 1891, the daughter of Isam K. and Mary Wilson Barnes. She was married to Ralph R. Simpson at Peru in September of 1911.

Mrs. Simpson was affiliated with the Methodist Church. She had lived in Des Moines for the past 31 years.

Survivors include three children: Helen Simpson of Des Moines; Mary Jane Thurman of Lorimor; and Fred R. Simpson of Gravois Mills, Mo. Also surviving are four grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Ella Larenzen of LaCrosse, Wis. and Bartess Missel Abbeg of Gary, Ind.

Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 1955, as well as by her parents, one son, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
