Edna Schirm Dies at 80

Funeral services for Edna Schirm, a life-long resident of Madison County, were held Monday afternoon, June 10 from the Kale Funeral Home at Truro.

Mrs. Schirm died June 6 at Des Moines General Hospital. She was 80 years of age.

A daughter of Alfred and Rachael Black Trowbridge, she was born July 1, 1893 at Patterson.

She attended Madison County schools, and on December 1, 1916 was married to Edward Schirm at Des Moines.

Mrs. Schirm was a member of the V.F.W. auxiliary, Garden Club, W.S.C.S. and the St. Charles United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Philip Schirm of St. Charles and the Rev. Harold Schirm of Winfield, Iowa; a daughter, Dorthea Rairigh of Aurora, Colorado; a sister, Carrie Weide of Kansas City, Missouri; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Schirm was preceded in death by her husband, a son in infancy, nine sisters, one brother and one grandchild, Gregory Schirm.

Officiating at the funeral Monday afternoon was the Rev. Eldon Ringle of St. Charles. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.
