Bert Cousins Services Wednesday

Bert Cousins, 79, a retired farmer living in Madison County for the past 14 years, died Saturday, July 14, 1973 in a Winterset nursing home.

Mr. Cousins was born August 18, 1893, at Moravia, Iowa, the son of George and Clara Dotson Cousins. He was married to Betty A. Peterson July 27, 1929 at Centerville, Iowa.

Mr. Cousins retired from active farming in 1958. He was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Winterset.

Surviving Mr. Cousins is his wife, Betty A. Cousins of Winterset and ten children. They are Clane Cousins of Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Lavena Kuhns of Nevada, Iowa; Mrs. Joy Boucher of Port Angeles, Washington; Kenneth Cousins of DeSoto, Iowa; Cleve Cousins of San Diego, California; Don Cousins of Crane, Missouri; Mrs. Shirley Clark of DeSoto, Iowa; Mrs. Betty Stark of Des Moines; Mrs. Joyce Burkhead of Afton, Iowa; Marilynn Dunn of Indianola, Iowa; Mrs. Phyllis Johnson, Richard Peterson and Mrs. Beverly Johnson, all of Ontario, California.

Also surviving are twenty-eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; a brother, Vern Cousins of Princeton, Missouri, and two sisters, Emma Farley of Ottumwa, Iowa and Amber Stanley of Escindido, California.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur officiating. Burial was made at the Hamblin Cemetery.
