Margaret Freihage, 78, of rural Afton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 1986, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.
She was born Sept. 15, 1907 in Lorimor, the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Fisher) Bevins. On Aug. 7, 1926, she married Grant A. Freihage in Mount Ayr.
She was a lifetime resident of Ringgold and Union Counties. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Freihage is survived by her husband, Grant; a daughter, Helen and husband, Paul Husted of Westminster, Colo.; three sons, Larry and wife, Reta, Kellerton, Robert and wife Betty of Galena, Mo., Dean and wife, Shirley of Loveland, Colo.; thirteen grandchildren; a sister, Mary Brown of Corydon; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Laura Freihage, of Creston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Stroud - Lindsay Funeral Home in Afton, with Rev. John Tunnicliff officiating.
Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery in Winterset.
A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church in Afton.
