Lawrence Johnson Dies at 61 Years

Lawrence Johnson of Webster township, a resident of Madison county since 1950, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 61 years of age.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Guthrie county, where he was born April 22, 1906, a son of Charles and Fanny Clark Johnson.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Johnson never married. Nearest surviving relatives are two brothers, Earl and Wilbur Johnson; and four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Schoonover, Mrs. Florence Little, Mrs. Mabel Salsbury, and Opal Johnson.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery, with military ritual at the grave-side by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion.
