Asa J. Hoyt Died Friday

Asa J. Hoyt, of Nevada, died Friday at a hospital in Nevada, of pneumonia. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Hoyt was born near Gowrie, the son of Mary and Joseph Hoyt, and lived in Winterset until 1952. He had been in failing health for a number of years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He was married in 1910 to the former Bertha Davis who preceded him in death.

Surviving are nine children, Dale of Nevada, Emory of Grand Junction, Colorado, Fern Conrad of Madrid, Gladys Priddy of Nevada, Helen Boatwright of California, Erma Ross of St. Charles, Joe and Kermit of Arizona and Lois Peterson of Lincoln, Nebraska; 30 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Annie Daniel of Des Moines; and a brother Sam of Washington.

Funeral services were held from the Watts-Soll Funeral home in Lorimor Monday afternoon, with Elder Mr. Houghton officiating. Burial was in the Kivett cemetery near Macksburg.
