Dan McNamara, 77, of the 4500 block of Grand Avenue died of cancer Friday at Hospice Kavanagh House on 56th Street. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Dunn’s Funeral Home.

Mr. McNamara was born in Winterset and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired finance manager for Chase Investments. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle Kelleher McNamara; two sons, Dan and Scott of Des Moines; a stepson, William Kelleher of Conroe, Texas; two step-daughters, Coleen Kelleher of Des Moines and Ann Rice of Los Gatos, Calif.; a sister, Marjorie Smith of Palatine, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
