Dale Dippold, DeSoto

Dale Dippold, 54, of De Soto died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. 

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 13, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, with burial in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Van Meter. Memorials may be made to the family. 

William Dale Dippold was born Sept. 2, 1957, in Winterset; the son of William and Beverly (Johnston) Dippold. He graduated from Van Meter High School in 1976 and later studied at Lincoln Tech in auto diesel mechanics and the National Education Center in electronics. He worked for Ruan Transport for a time and also Qualis, Quest for 16 years in communications, and Mills Motors and Cedar Valley Ford as a mechanic. He also served on the De Soto City Council for eight years. 

He was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Lynn Wright; a nephew, Owen Wright; his grandparents, William and Edith Dippold and Francis and Ithoulia Johnston; an aunt and uncle, Glenn and Beverly Forret; and his dog, Barney. 

Dale is survived by his parents, William and Beverly Dippold of Van Meter; a nephew Michael Hartz; a niece, Tiffany Wright of Lorimor; four great-nieces and great-nephews, Jager and Melody Hartz, Prescott Allen and Danica Heathcote; and his dogs, Barley and Buddy. He is also survived by five cousins and a host of friends.

Dale Dippold, DeSoto

Dale died Friday, August 10, 2012 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. He was 54.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, August 13 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A visitation will be held 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, August 12, with family present to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Van Meter. Memorials may be made to the family.

William Dale Dippold was born September 2, 1957 in Winterset, Iowa; the son of William and Beverly (Johnston) Dippold. He graduated from Van Meter High School in 1976 and later studied at Lincoln Tech in auto diesel mechanics and the National Education Center in electronics.
