Karl B. Denly, Audubon, Minn.

Karl B. Denly age 71 of Audubon, MN died June 9, 2012 at his residence.

Karl Benjamin Denly was born on April 12, 1941 in Osceola, Iowa to Ben and Hilda Gerdes Denly. He grew up and attended school in Truro, Iowa,graduating from Truro High School. Following high school he moved to Colorado, where he worked as a cowboy on a ranch for the next six years. He then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD for one year. He moved to Casselton, ND, where he managed the grain elevator. On August 6, 1981 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Fisher in Watertown, SD. They moved to St. Hilaire, MN and Karl worked at the grain elevator there. In 1985 they moved to Audubon, MN. Karl worked at the Audubon Elevator for the next ten years. An injury at work forced him to retire in 1995.

Karl loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He was a member of the UFDA (United Foundation For Disabled Archers). This organization was very important to him. He was able to harvest numerous deer and make many good friends over the years.

Karl is survived by his wife Bonnie, two daughters, LeAnn (Jim) Carlson, of Audubon, MN; and Dawn Denly, of Watertown, SD; one son, Charles "Chuck" Denly, of Watertown, SD; five grandchildren, Jacob Schnackenberg, and Cody, Jesse, Taylor, and Alexa Carlson; one brother, David Denly, of Richland, Iowa; one sister, Teresa (David) Fleming, of North English, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Karl is preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, James Nicholson; a grandson, Chaz Denly; and two brothers, Howard and James Nicholson.
