Michael D. Morton, 49, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 19, 2012. Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22 at St. Mary's Church in Elkhart, with Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 at St. Mary's Church, 460 NW Washington Ave. in Elkhart, with burial in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mike was born October 1, 1962 to Donald and Cecelia Morton. He graduated from North Polk High School in 1981. Mike worked at RG Elder with the local 234 as a heavy equipment operator. He loved NASCAR, fishing and spending time with his dog, Willow.

Survivors include his fiancé, Kailei Hogan of Ankeny; parents, Donald and Cecelia Morton of Elkhart; sisters, Diane (Keith) Peterman of Ankeny, Judy Morton of West Des Moines, and Colleen (Jeff) Ross of Ankeny; one nephew, James (Caitie) Corbett; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Church in Elkhart, or the family.
