HAZEL M. ECKSTEIN, Creston

Hazel M. Eckstein, 85, of Creston, Iowa, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center in Creston, Iowa. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date with the cremains being interred in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Madison County, Iowa.

Hazel was born on May 23, 1927, at Colchester, Illinois to Louis and Ruth (Osborn) Elston. She was married on October 9, 1951 at Adel, Iowa, to John Rockford Eckstein. She had been a resident of Madison County until moving to Creston in 1998. She had been a homemaker and earlier in life she was a health aide.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Dave Eckstein of DeSoto and Jerry Elston of Seymour, daughter, Donna Eckstein of Creston, brothers, Ralph Elston, Carrol Elston, and Wayne Elston; sister, Wilma Hayes, grandchildren, Nathan Elston, Sean Elston, and Kati Eckstein; and great grandchildren, Chastity,Halley, Emery, and Kendra.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ruth (Osborn) Elston, husband, John R. Eckstein, son, Dale Eckstein, and brother, Marvin.
