Resident of Elbe, Mrs Maze, Dies

Mrs. Laura Phidelia Maze, 79, died at her home in Elbe Saturday. She had been a resident of the community for 40 years.

Mrs. Maze was born in Iowa and came to Washington from Michigan. She was a member of the Eatonville Community church, a past noble grand and past district deputy of the Rebekahs, a member of the Ladies Militant and of the Elbe Grange.

She is survived by her husband, William; a son, Herbert of Seattle, and a nephew, George Shoemaker. Funeral announcement will be made by C.C. Mellinger Co.

Maze - Services for Mrs. Laura P. Maze will be held Thursday at 1 p. m. at the Eatonville Community church, the Rev. Verne Poole and the Ladies' auxiliary of Patriarchs Militants officiating. Nisquallly lodge No. 233 of the Rebekahs will be in charge at the graveside in Mountain View Memorial Park where the C. C. Mellinger company will direct the burial. Active pallbearers will be Marvin, Kenneth and Harold Fitzer, William Stewart, George Anderson and John Bloom. members of the Nisqually Rebekahs will be honorary pallbearers.

Transcriber's note: Laura's parents were married in Madison County, Iowa, in 1866, and lived there through at least 1873. Although not verified, Laura was likely born there in 1872.
