James Wilcoxon, Earlham, Iowa

February 14, 1924 - June 7, 2012

Jim Wilcoxon, 88, of Earlham died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at his home.

There will be no services. Burial will be in the Embarrass Cemetery, near Redmon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Multipurpose Center or CRISP (404 S. 2nd Avenue, Winterset).

James Wilcoxon was born February 14, 1924 in Coles County, Illinois; the son of Odes and Maude (Harmon) Wilcoxon. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and married Beatrice Joye Hutchings on February 14, 1945 in San Francisco, California.

He and his wife moved to Madison County from Illinois in 1967. They also lived in Texas for a time and had wintered in Hudson, Florida since 1993. Jim was a farmer all of his life and in retirement he worked for Allendan Seed and enjoyed mowing.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joye of Earlham and sisters, Betty Hunt of Oakland, IL and Donna Smith of Benton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill Wilcoxon and Fred Wilcoxon, and a nephew, Billy Wilcoxon.
