Dorothy E. Luebbers, 84, of Bishop Drumm Care Center, 5837 Winwood Drive, Johnston, died of a heart ailment Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the care center, with burial at St. Patrick’s Irish Settlement Cemetery in Cumming.

Mrs. Luebbers was born in Churchville and lived in the Des Moines area most of her life, moving to the care center in 1992. She had been a secretary and was a member of St. Augustin’s Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Women’s League.

Surviving are two daughters, Maureen Luebbers of Omaha and Mary Jean Luebbers of Juneau, Alaska; a brother, John Weil of Cumming; and two sisters, Agnes Kirk of Des Moines and Ruth Murphy of Iowa City.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at McLaren’s Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.
