RANDY 'R. C.' JOHNSON

Randy ‘R.C.’ Johnson, 32, of Winterset died Thursday, May 24, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 30th at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Winterset.

Visitation will be held 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 29th at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery, rural Madison County.

Memorials to the family, which will be used for his children’s education, will be appreciated.

Randy Charles Johnson was born February 29, 1980 to Randal and Vickey (Allsup) Johnson which technically means being born on a leap year that he is 8 years old. He attended school in Winterset graduating in 1998 from Winterset High School. Following graduation, he attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, Iowa where he received a diploma from the John Deere tractor mechanics program. On March 1, 2003 he married Kandi Scar at the Zion Church on the Madison County Historical Complex.

R.C. was employed by RTL Equipment of Grimes as a heavy equipment mechanic and was certified as a crane inspector. He had also worked at John Deere in Winterset as a mechanic and had owned his own repair business, Randy’s Repair.

R.C. was a member of the First Christian Church of Winterset. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and muddin with 4-wheelers and trucks. He also loved hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his wife and kids.

He is survived by his wife, Kandi of Winterset; his children, Michael Wildin, Kaitlyn and Cameron Johnson all at home; his parents, Vickey (Ike) Davis of Prole and Randal (Judy) Johnson of Winterset; a brother, Lucas (Mallory) Johnson of Winterset: step-siblings, Kari Davis of Van Meter, Nick Hamilton of Winterset, and Nicole Hamilton of Van Meter; and maternal grandparents, Jr. and Joyce Allsup of Peru. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and William Johnson.
