HENRY PURSCELL BURIED SUNDAY

Death of Winterset Man Occurred Friday at Hospital Here

Charles Henry Purscell, a life-long resident of Winterset, died Friday Aug. 27, at Madison County Memorial hospital. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Purscell was born here July 18, 1877. He farmed near Winterset for 12 years, then spent the remainder of his active life as a blacksmith in this community.

He was married Jan. 3, 1907 to Lucy Knight, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Henry Purscell of Creston; a daughter Ellen Wilson of Des Moines; a son by his first marriage, Marion Purscell of Newton; a sister Mrs. May Smith of Creston; a brother, William Purscell of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from Anderson’s Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery near Winterset.
