Bea Ann Penn, 67, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at S. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Des Moines
Bea Ann was born at Lenox, Iowa to Lewis and Veldeva (Vanderpluym) Morris. She grew up in Winterset and retired from US West Telephone Co.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Penn of Des Moines; daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Hazel of Sergeant Bluff; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Morris and niece, Jody Morris.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Bea Ann Penn, 67, of Des Moines, Iowa, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset, with Father James Livingston officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Des Moines. Visitation will be today (Wednesday, May 16) from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation.
Bea Ann was born on May 26, 1944, at Lenox, Iowa to Lewis and Veldeva (Vanderpluym) Morris. She grew up in Winterset and was a 1962 Winterset High School graduate. She moved to Des Moines in the late 1960s and worked for 31 years for the telephone company, starting out when it was Northwestern Bell and ending when it was US West. On Oct. 4, 1980, Bea Ann married William Lee Penn at Winterset. Bea Ann attended Mercy Chapel in Des Moines, was a member of the US West Dinner Club and the Eddie Miles Fan Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Veldeva Morris; brother, Jim Morris; and niece, Jody Morris.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Penn of Des Moines; daughter, Jennifer Hazel of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; three grandchildren; and a nephew.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
