Marian J. Carlson, 74, of 3302 Thompson Ave. died of cancer Thursday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, and burial will be in Clark Cemetery near Winterset.

Mrs. Carlson was born in Winterset and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She had been a cafeteria worker and matron for the Des Moines schools for 25 years and was a member of Unity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her husband, George; a son, Dick of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Carolyn Dale of Garden Grove; a brother, Roland Macumber of Macon, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
