St. Charles NewsWord was received of the death of Raymond Travis, 78, of Des Moines who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Riverview Care Center in Des Moines of emphysema. Funeral services were held Thursday at Dahlstroms Funeral Home in Des Moines with burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

January 8, 1986 Metro pg 7Raymond A. Travis, 78, of 1800 Hickman Road, died of emphysema Tuesday at Riverview Care Center. He was retired from Ruan Cab Co. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mr. Travis was born in Peru and lived in Des Moines for 44 years. He was a member of Easton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Dean of Des Moines; two daughters, Donna Brown of Des Moines and Betty Cunningham of Aurora, Mo.; a brother, Emery of Dallas Center; a sister, Eva Oglesbee of Thayer; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
