Week’s Letter from Earlham

Miss Jennie McBride (sic) died Friday morning at her home southwest of Earlham. Miss McQuie suffered a fall earlier in the winter and never regained her health.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Early Chapel conducted by Rev. Clayton Shepard.

Jennie McQuie

Jennie McQuie daughter of Isabel and Peter McQuie, was born June 20, 1868 near Oneida, Illinois and died at the family home near Early Chapel February 27, 1942 at the age of 73 years, eight months and seven days.

Her death came following a serious injury received in a fall at her home four months ago.

She came to our present home with her parents seventy years ago. When in her early youth she became affiliated with the Early Chapel church.

She was one of a family of seven children, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Junkin, Mrs. Isabelle Moore and Mrs. Maggie McQuie and three brothers, Alexander, Peter and William, all preceded her in death with the exception of her sister Maggie with whom she made her home. Besides her sister, she is survived by 12 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 1, at the early Chapel church at three o’clock with the Rev. Marguerite Shepard, assisted by Rev. Clayton Shepard officiating. Interment was made in the Penn Center, Cemetery.
