RONNIE GENE CRAWFORD, ALTOONA, IOWA

Ronnie Crawford, 59, died Feb. 17, 2012, at the Bright Kavanagh House. 

Ronnie was born May 30, 1952, in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Gene and Irene (Brokaw) Crawford. He was a retired Des Moines Police Officer with 31 years of service. 

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Beth Ann; children, Becky, Curtis, Jessica and husband Bob, Phillip and wife Audra, Kelly, Kirk, Reese and wife Katie; Many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his parents Gene and Irene; three brothers, Bob, Rod, and Rich; mother in law Jeanne Vermie and close family friends Jennifer Schultz, Mike Church and Jolene Crawford. 

Ronnie enjoyed running and canoeing and was a dog and horse lover. He also enjoyed his day trips with Beth Ann visiting Iowa’s State Parks and traveling all over the state for lunch dates. 

Ronnie’s wishes of anatomical donation to Des Moines University have been honored. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League or to the family for a memorial at Ronnie’s favorite running track at Copper Creek.
