Jack Hanrahan, 67, of Prole died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Feb. 18, at the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Church near Cumming, with burial in the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Jack was born March 23, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa; the son of Andrew and Louise (Brownrigg) Hanrahan. He graduated from Martensdale High School in 1962 and later served in the Army National Guard. He married Linda Pettit on Nov. 23, 1968, at the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Church. Jack farmed all of his life, and in 1988, he established J and L Custom Fence. He was a member of the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Church. He was also a member of the Madison County Pork Producers, served on the Farm Service Board of Directors, and served as a Trustee for the Madison County Zoning Commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle John Hanrahan; and aunt Bridgetta Hanrahan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hanrahan of Prole; his six children, John Hanrahan of Shreveport, La.; Phil Hanrahan of St. Charles; Mark Hanrahan of Prole; Susan Thompson of St. Charles; Andi Petersen of St. Charles; Ryan Hanrahan of Prole; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Mary Alice.

Jack Hanrahan, 67, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 18 at the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Church near Cumming. A visitation will be held 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 17 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A Rosary will be said immediately following the visitation. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Irish Settlement Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. On-line condolences may be made to the family atwww.ochiltree.com.
