Henry L. Martin, a long time resident of Madison county, died in a Des Moines hospital Tuesday, Mar. 14th.

Mr. Martin was born in Warren county, Iowa, March 20, 1865. On December 4, 1888, he was married to Stella M. Holbrook, who preceded him in death on April 29, 1936. Two daughters were born to this union, Mrs. Jessie M. Strawn, and Mrs. Dorothy M. Camp, both of St. Charles.

He was a member of the Methodist church, and of the M. W. A.

He is survived by two daughters, fifteen grandchildren, and a brother, Thomas of Fremont, Neb.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Thursday, March 16th, with burial in the St. Charles cemetery.
