MRS. S. B. HAMAND DIES AT HOME OF SON IN MELCHER
Mrs. S. B. Hamand of Melcher died at the home of her son, L. A. Hamand Sunday evening at eight o’clock. Mrs. Hamand was in poor health and came here several weeks ago where she has been cared for. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church here.

Mrs. S. B. Hamand of Melcher, a resident of Peru for many years, died Sunday evening at the home of her son, L. A. Hamand in Peru, following an illness of several weeks.
Mrs. Hamand was a native of Illinois and following her marriage came to Peru. She was active in church activities and was a member of the choir. The family moved to Melcher a few years ago.
She is survived by her husband; one son; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Porter of Des Moines; two sisters and two brothers in Illinois; five grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
