Gladys Eileen was born Sept. 21, 1906 near Earlham, Iowa to Kephart and Editha (Bash) Morgan and departed this life on Jan. 4, 1957, at the age of 50 years, 3 months and 13 days.

In 1918, she with her parents moved to Guthrie County, Iowa, where she received her education and later taught school for 6-1/2 years.

Gladys was united in marriage to Ray Ellis Capehart on Aug. 18, 1930. To this union were born five children: Nona, Martin, Joan, Jeanne and David. In 1948, she gave her heart and life to the Lord and joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Guthrie Center, Iowa.

When they moved to Harrison, Arkansas in 1951, she transferred her membership to the Highland Wesleyan Methodist Church near Harrison and faithfully attended and helped at the church as long as her health permitted. She was a loyal servant to her Lord and Master, who was first in her heart and life. She loved her Bible and time of prayer and faithfully witnessed to the power of God in her life. She dearly loved her family and home, which she took as a God given responsibility.

She leaves to mourn her passing, awaiting a brighter day when they shall join her, her husband, Ray E. Capehart; five children: Nona, Martin, Joan, Jeanne and David; a brother, Paul of Menlo, Iowa; two half-brothers, Lester of Hutchinson, Kansas and Melvin; one step-sister, Mrs. Oscar Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held in the Christenson Funeral Home, Jan. 8, 1957. Rev. E. A. Anderson was in charge. The singers Sadie Swartzentruber, Anna Mae Beachy, Henry Yoder and Lester Nisly sang: "Going Down the Valley," "Pearly White City," and "Beyond the Sunset." The pallbearers were Bill Hudson, Melvin Whitney, Mike Grimes, Albert Hickman, Wayne McCulley and Troy Payne. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
