James R. Davis received word on Saturday of the death of his son, Butler Davis of Portland, Ore.
Mr. Davis, who had a stroke of paralysis several years ago, had been very sick with influenza, as had other members of his family. His death resulted from paralysis. A telegram arrived on Friday stating that his condition was very low. Mr. Davis, who was about 55 years of age, had lived in this county previous to his removal west.
He is survived by a sister in Canada, one in Minnesota and two brothers: William of Truro and John of Osage, Iowa.
