Sam McVey died Monday after a brief illness of flu pneumonia. No arrangements are made for burial yet.

DEATH OF SAM McVEY

Peru’s first influenza victim died at his home in the west part of town early Monday morning, after a week of intense suffering. The body was taken to Osceola Tuesday for interment in the lot by the side of their little one.

He leaves to mourn his untimely death his wife and three little ones, an aged father and several brothers and sisters. Owing to the nature of his disease, no funeral was held.
