Funeral Services Were Held Monday at Methodist Church
W. A. Thomas, a long-time Grand River township farmer, died at his home south of Macksburg last Thursday. He was 79 years of age.
William Alexander Thomas was born May 8, 1858, in Madison county. He was married on November 20, 1892 to Olive Ruth Harrison. They were the parents of six children, one daughter dying in infancy. Mrs. Thomas died in 1917.
He was a member of the Macksburg Methodist church.
He leaves three sons: Walter Thomas of Rollins, Wyo., Earl Thomas of Winterset, and Leonard Thomas of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters: Mrs. Madge Livingston of Bend, Ore., and Mrs. Mamie Blair of Macksburg; a sister, Mrs. Mary Proctor of Emmet, Idaho; two brothers, Steven and James Thomas, both of Macksburg; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Macksburg Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.

W. A. THOMAS DIED AT HOME SOUTH OF MACKSBURG JANUARY 27th
W. A. Thomas died at his home south of Macksburg Jan. 27. Mr. Thomas had been in failing health for some time, but had been up and around as usual, and was stricken while sitting in his chair reading, and died a few minutes later. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday at 2:30 conducted by Rev. M. D. Summerbell and burial in the Moon cemetery.
