News of Interest from St. CharlesMRS. ELIZA STILES FORNEY FORMER RESIDENT, DIES IN KANSAS AT AGE OF 83 YEARS
Mrs. M. W. Browne received word last week of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Eliza Stiles Forney, 83, at her home in Cherokee, Kansas. Mrs. Forney was the wife of Dr. Forney, one of the pioneer doctors of St. Charles and many of the older residents recall the time when he was their family doctor. She was a sister of the late Mrs. Savannah McAndrews and Capt. Thomas Stiles, for many years a resident of Winterset. Mrs. Forney was the last of a family of eleven children and for many years after moving to Kansas, came back to attend the Old Settlers reunion at St. Charles, an occasion which she greatly enjoyed.
