WALTER B. LYTLE

Walter B. Lytle was born at St. Charles, Iowa, July 27, 1872. His early life was spent as a farmer boy in that locality. In 1895, he moved to Davis county, living in Belknap for a time. His marriage to Miss Myrtle Shinn of Carson, occurred on Sept. 5, 1899, three children being born to them. One little daughter died in infancy. A son Frank and a daughter, Iola, survive their father.

On June 11th, a valvular heart trouble caused his death, which is greatly regretted by his fellow townsmen and friends. He was active in community affairs and a member of the Methodist church, always keenly alive to all its interests. Prominent in Masonry, in the Order of the Eastern Star, a Past Consul of the M.W.A. Three times elected to the school board, a member of the Carson township Council of National Defense, also an organizer of the Farmer's Bureau.

Funeral services were held on June 13th in the Carson Methodist church, conducted by his pastor, Rev. M. H. Keast. The Masonic lodge had charge of the services.

Surviving relatives are his father and Stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Lytle of Des Moines; three brothers; Ralph of Chicago, William of Winterset and Fred of Truro; two sisters; Mrs. Mary Nash and Mrs. Helen Farris, both of Des Moines
