Earlham - MRS. JOHN LaPELLA

The funeral of Mrs. John LaPella was held at the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Beverage. Interment at the Earlham cemetery.

Mrs. LaPella was 68 years old, a member of the Methodist church and a devoted christian. She was much loved by those who knew her and will be sorely missed, not only by her family, but by a host of friends and relatives. Those of her family left to mourn her loss are: her husband and three children, Mrs. Elmer Roseman of Pasadena, Calif., Bert LaPella and Mrs. Clarence DeVault, both of Earlham, all of whom have the sympathy of their friends in their sorrow.

Death of MRS. JOHN LaPELLA

A number of Winterset people attended the funeral of Mrs. Catherine Eyerly LaPella in the Earlham M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Beveridge, on last Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. LaPella had been in poor health for several years, but was taken ill during Saturday night and Sunday morning with a disease resembling pneumonia. Her death occurring on March 20th.She was a native of this state, coming to this county with her parents from Jasper county in 1863, when she was thirteen years old. For eighteen years Mr. and Mrs. LaPella have lived in Earlham, celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary last year.

Two daughters and one son survive their mother. One daughter, Mrs. Elmer Roseman and her husband arrived on Saturday from Los Angeles for the funeral. The only one of a family of three sisters and two brothers, to be present was George Eyerly, the sisters all being ill. They are Mrs. Law of Stuart, Mrs. Farmington of Kansas and Mrs. John Gamble of Oklahoma
