Ohio Township - MARY SHULTZ

Word was received by relatives in this locality Sunday morning of the death of Mrs. Mary Shultz at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Flora Nichols in Des Moines.

Mr. and Mrs. Davis Shultz were among the earlier settlers in this community, having improved and lived for many years on the farm now known as the Banker farm, one half mile east of the Banner School. In those days, this road was known as “Mahaska street” as almost all of the residents had come from Mahaska county. Mr. and Mrs. Shultz being among the first. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Shultz has made her home with her son, A. J. of De Soto.
