Page 8, Column 2Death of Mrs. George Orr
Mrs. George Orr's death occurred at three o'clock Monday morning at her home on East Court avenue, after a brief illness. Although she had not been well for ten years, Mrs. Orr was active in mind and in strength far beyond her physical ability. She would have been 78 years old in February and had lived a useful, busy life.
Mr. and Mrs. Orr celebrated their golden wedding six years ago last March surrounded by their children and friends. Since 1878 the Orrs have made their home in Madison county, living in Scott township until 13 years ago, when they moved to Winterset.
Mrs. Orr was a valued member of the Methodist church and greatly esteemed by all who knew her. Her seven children will recall her as a real mother, interested in all of their family life and devoted to the end.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday conducted by Rev. Giddens assisted by Rev. Stewart.
