Benjamin Franklin Corp was born at Winterset, Iowa, June 9, 1860 and lived there until 1879 when he moved to McFall, Missouri, living there until 1891. Moving west, he came to Garfield, June 16th, 1891. He lived in and around Garfield for 53 years. He was a retired section foreman, serving at Garfield on the Great Northern road from 1912 until 1931 when he retired at the age of 71 years.

He was married to Emma Brown at McFall, Missouri in 1881. To this union eight children were born. Mr. Corp was baptized in the Methodist church at the age of 15 years. In 1908 he united with the Christian church and remained a faithful Christian through life. He departed this life, June 28, 1944, at the age of 84 years, and 19 days. He had been living the past two years with a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Tinnel of Colfax, Washington.

Mr. and Mrs. Corp celebrated their 69th anniversary in Garfield April 27, 1941. Mrs. Corp passed away two years ago last May. Surviving are three sons; Ben, of Milwaukee, Oregon; Ed and Eldon, Spokane, one daughter, Mrs. J. B. Tinnel, Colfax, eight grandchildren and nine grandchildren (sic - greatgrandchildren). Three girls died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Dowell passed away last July.
