The death of Mrs. Amy McCulley at the age of 86 years, occurred last Wednesday noon at her home on East Jefferson street, following paralysis.
Mrs. McCulley's birth state was Tennessee, the family coming to Iowa in 1840, when she was nine years old. Her marriage to David McCulley took place in 1853, only three of their family of nine children being alive today, Misses Cora and Eva and David at Columbus Junction. Mr. McCulley died in 1881.
Mrs. McCulley since girlhood had been a loyal member of the United Presbyterian church. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home with Rev. W. J. Stewart in charge, followed by burial near Wapello, Iowa.

Amy Finley was born in eastern Tennessee, December 7, 1831, and departed this life January 23, 1918, aged 86 years, 1 month and 16 days.
She was united in marriage May 3, 1853 to David McCulley. To this union were born nine children, three of whom are living, Eva and Cora, of Winterset, and David C., of Columbus Junction. She has one brother, George Finley, of Ottumwa, living. Her husband departed this life May 17, 1881.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. McCulley moved to Grand View in Louisa county where they lived until they came to Winterset. Mrs. McCulley has been a member of the United Presbyterian church from girlhood.
Funeral services were held from the home Thursday afternoon at 3 0’clock, conducted by Rev. W. J. Stewart. The remains were taken to Wapello for burial.
