Mrs. James Boling who formerly lived in Monroe township, and who was well known to all the older residents of the south part of the county died at her home in Lorimor, Friday, February 2, 1912. The Lorimor Journal prints the following obituary:
The funeral of Mrs. Sophia J. Boling, wife of James W. Boling, was held from the residence of her husband Friday morning at ll o'clock. Mrs. Boling whose maiden name was Sophia Wilson was born April 2, 1818 in Marrion county, Illinois. She came to Madison county, Iowa with her parents in 1854, where she was married on November 16, 1861 to James W. Boling. One son, Glen Boling, our fellow townsman, was the only child born of the union.
