Darrell D. “Dutch” Parkins, 80, of Littleton, Colorado died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held prior to services from 9-10 a.m., Saturday morning. Burial will follow in the Jefferson-Goar Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Darrell was born Aug. 12, 1931, in rural Winterset, Iowa, the son of Pearl W. and Katherine (Shafer) Parkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill; and an infant sister, Sharon.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Jan of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Gregory Parkins of Evergreen, Colo.; two daughters, Cindi Birney and Debbie Parkins of Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, Duane Parkins of Des Moines; two sisters, Reva Reimann of DeSoto and Mary Klug of Des Moines. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
