NELLIE PHIPPS was born July 27, l874, in Madison County, Iowa, and died in Decatur City, Iowa, October l5, l898, aged 24 years 2 months and l8 days.

She was married to John Riddle, August l6, l89l. One child blessed this union, a little girl, who survives the mother to comfort the husband in his affliction.

The deceased was converted under the preaching of Rev. Douglass in l890, at which time she united with the M.E. Church of which she remained a consistent member until death. Her disease was of a lingering character and death was no doubt a relief from her pain but amid her sufferings she expressed her perfect submission to the will of her Heavenly Father.

In her departure she leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church by Rev. E.C. Newland and the remains were laid to rest in the Decatur City Cemetery, October l7, l898.
