"From Mooresville -- John Day, another of our old citizens, died of asthma last week. He is the last one of the Day family who have been very unfortunate since the war, nearly all dying of consumption." Son of Richard Jr. and Hannah Kendall Day. Married first wife ca March 14, 1832 in Morgan Co., Ind. They had 6 children: Thomas, Warner L., Caleb, Gulia Ann, Nathan, and Richard. Edith died in 1863. Married second wife ca March 24, 1866.

Tidings have been received of the death of Mr. Day who will be better remembered as the husband of Mrs. Talbott, a former citizen.

Transcriber's note: Burial at the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. John Day married second wife, Hannah Ann (Patton) Talbott, at Winterset, Madison, Iowa on May 1st, 1866.
