Death of Emma Edgar

Mrs. Emma Edgar died at her home in the east part of town on Monday of this week at the age of 63. Her death came following a long illness from tumor.

Funeral services were held this afternoon and burial made in the Winterset cemetery. Three children, two sons and one daughter survive the mother.

Mrs. Edgar Dies

Mrs. Emma Edgar, for fifty years a resident of Winterset, died at her home in the east part of the city Tuesday.

The funeral occurs this afternoon at the residence.

Mrs. Edgar is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mercer, and her two sons, Gustavus and Carl.

Coordinator's note: Per her 1874 Madison County Marriage record, she first married Albert Ponxs, her maiden name recorded as "Hohn". He family's surname varied markedly from census to census but the only gravestone that could be found was a brother who was buried under "Hain"
