Pageg 1Death Claims Another Pioneer
Mrs. Urilla Lee passed away at her home in Winterset on Sept. 23, 1920, death coming as the result of the infirmities of old age. She was born in Mifflin county, Pennsylvania, August 16, 1836. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1852.
March 8, 1855 Urilla Goshorn was united by marriage to C. P. Lee. They came to Winterset in 1856, where Mr. Lee was a successful merchant until his death in 1892.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee were the parents of eight children, five of whom are left to survive them, Miss June Lee, Mrs. Ida Collins of Chariton, Ia., Fred Lee of LeMara, Colo., Miss Bessie and Mrs. Lee Graham of Winterset.
Mrs. Lee was a devout Christian, being a member of the Baptist church. She was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed in the community where she had lived over a half century.
Funeral services were held from the home Saturday morning, September 25, 1920 and interment was made in the Winterset cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Geo. Rogers, pastor of the Baptist church.
