Former Resident

Word has been received here of the death of Raymond A. Jones at his home in Deadwood, South Dakota on May 11th.

He was born in Scott township August 1, 1904 the son of Andrew J. and Kathryn Beem Jones.

Ray A. Jones dies at home

Ray A. Jones, 65, Deadwood was found dead in his apartment at the Pineview about noon Friday. Death was from natural causes.

Jones was born Aug. 1, 1907 at Winterset, Iowa. He worked as a farm hand in Hardin, Mont. before coming to Deadwood a few years ago.

He was married in 1936 at Castle Rock, Colo., to the former Ruth Whitney.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Danny (Mollie) Beverlin, Belle Fourche, two grandchildren, a brother address unknown and a sister Mrs. Barbara Shipp, Hopkins, Minn.

Graveside rites are set for Monday at 10 a.m. in Oak Ridge cemetery, under the direction of the Wells Funeral Home, Deadwood.

Ray A. Jones

DEADWOOD—Services for Ray A. Jones, 65, who was found dead in his apartment in Deadwood Friday, apparently of natural causes, are pending with Wells Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jones was born Aug. 1, 1907, at Winterset, Iowa. He had worked for a number of years on ranches in the Hardin, Mont., area before moving to Deadwood.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Danny (Lolly) Beverlin, Belle Fourche, and two grandchildren.

Ray A. Jones rites are held

Graveside rites for Ray A. Jones were held Monday morning at Oak Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Wells Funeral Home, Deadwood. The Rev. Tom Martin, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Buffalo, officiated.

Pallbearers included Pat Dowdy, Tom Arnold, Newcastle, Wyo., Ed Condreay, Burlington, Colo., Jim Dowdy, Jack Dowdy and Joe Dowdy, Upton, Wyo.

Other survivors with a daughter, Mrs. Danny Beverlin, Belle Fourche are daughter, Mrs. Beverly Brom, Boulder, Colo. and a niece.
