A Dallas resident since 1892, Mrs. Josephine Bartlett, 79, of 4116 Swiss Avenue, died early Thursday at her home. Burial will be in old Oak Cliff Cemetery, following funeral services at the home at 2 p.m. Friday. Max Strang, pastor of the Central Congregational Church, will officiate.

Mrs. Bartlett was born in Indiana on July 14, 1851, and was married at Winterset, Iowa in 1869, living in that state until 1891. She and her husband, J. W. Bartlett, lived in Kansas City for a short time and came to Dallas in 1892. Mr. Bartlett died in 1926. Mrs. Bartlett was a member of the Central Congregational Church. Surviving are four children, F. W. Bartlett, B. L. Bartlett, and Ruth C. Bartlett, all of Dallas, and Mrs. Howard D. Mock of New Milford, Conn., all of whom were here when their mother died; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia A. Newlon, Winterset, Iowa, and D. B. Cook, Earlham, Iowa; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Death Of Mrs. J. W. Bartlett

Mrs. Lydia Newton received word Thursday, Nov. 27th, of the death of her sister, Mrs. J. W. Bartlett. She passed away at her home in Dallas, Texas early that morning.

Mrs. Bartlett will be remembered here as Mrs. Josephine Philbrick.

She has been in ill health for some time.
