Richard V. Atkins, 64, of Denton, Neb., died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, in Crete, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 15, at Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete, Neb. A graveside service with military honors was held Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset. Memorials to the family will be appreciated. Ochiltree Funeral Service of Winterset is in charge of the graveside service.
Richard was born March 7, 1947, to John and Grace (Cooper) Atkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Chere of Denton, Neb.; three brothers, John Atkins of Columbus, Neb., Tom Atkins of Bartlesville, Okla., and Jim Atkins of Rantoul, Ill.; a sister, Sheila Newlin of Tulsa, Okla., and several nieces and nephews.
