Marjorie Marie Wonderlin, 87, of Winterset died peacefully in her sleep May 7, 2011, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 11) at Church of Assumption Catholic Church in Churchville, Iowa, with burial following in the Calvary Cemetery in Churchville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Salvation Army.
“Margie” was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Adel. She was married to Wilbert Wonderlin on Nov. 4, 1942. They lived on a farm near Prole, where they had seven children. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Churchville until the family moved to Florida in 1974. Margie moved to Winterset in 2008.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert, her daughter Sharon Labertew, her son Roger Wonderlin, her granddaughter Julia Kading, her sister Olivia Findley, and brothers Denver and Flonie Findley.
She is survived by her sons Charles Wonderlin, Sherman Wonderlin and Michael Wonderlin; her daughters Teresa Kading and Patricia Donahue; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
