Sherri Cassady, 47, of Des Moines died at her home Sunday, May 1, 2011.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 4) at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset has been entrusted with arrangements.
Sherri Lynn Alexander was born on Nov. 9, 1963, and was adopted by Eugene and Norma (Downing) Alexander. She grew up in Winterset; Sherri graduated from Winterset High School in 1982 and graduated from college at Grandview. She married Roger Anderson and to this union two daughters were born, . She later married Rick Cassady in 2005. Sherri was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Alexandria.
She is survived by her husband, Rick of Des Moines; her daughters, Jennifer Anderson and Laura Whitson, both of Des Moines; her mother, Norma Alexander of Winterset; her sister, Debora Kephart of Winterset; four step-daughters, Jennifer Marchik of Iowa City and Lucinda, Samantha and Klarissa Cassady all of DeSoto; and a granddaughter.
